چکیده

In this article, we report the silver orthophosphate (Ag3PO4) photocatalytic inactivation properties on strains Gram-positive Saprophyte B. subtilis, a diploid fungus Candida albicans and Gram-negative Pseudomonas aeruginosa, using as irradiation source white-light-emitting diodes (WLEDs) with luminous flux (? v) of 1.3 × 103 Lumens relative power density 15 mW m?2. Microorganisms death curves kinetic constants (Kd) indicated that inhibitory effect Ag3PO4 under WLEDs is well pronounced to C. (6.6 10–2 min?1) in relation P. augenosas (4.6 subitilis (2.5 min?1). Decimal reduction time (Dt) were 34.4 min albicans, 50.1 92.1 B.subitilis. The micrographs obtained by scanning electron microscopy field emission gun (SEM-FEG) demonstrated there was cell wall permeability consequently total rupture suggesting lipid peroxidation phenomenon protein oxidation promoted presence reactive oxygen species (ROS). Furthermore, it observed when irradiated demonstrates important sporicidal activity related promoting endospore rupture.

Photocatalytic and photoelectric properties of cubic Ag3PO4 sub-microcrystals with sharp corners and edges.

Herein, we demonstrate a complex-precipitation strategy for high-yield fabrication of single-crystalline Ag(3)PO(4) sub-microcubes with sharp corners, edges, and smooth surfaces, which exhibit much higher photocatalytic activities and photoelectric conversion properties than spherical Ag(3)PO(4) particles and commercial N-doped TiO(2) under visible light irradiation.

Heterostructured Ag3PO4/AgBr/Ag plasmonic photocatalyst with enhanced photocatalytic activity and stability under visible light.

A heterostructured Ag3PO4/AgBr/Ag plasmonic photocatalyst was prepared by a rational in situ ion exchange reaction between Ag3PO4 micro-cubes and Br(-) in aqueous solution followed by photoreduction. The photocatalytic activities of obtained photocatalysts were measured by the degradation of methyl orange (MO) and methylene blue (MB) under visible light irradiation (λ≥ 400 nm). Compared to AgBr...

Concave trisoctahedral Ag3PO4 microcrystals with high-index facets and enhanced photocatalytic properties.

Herein, we demonstrate for the first time the fabrication of concave trisoctahedral Ag(3)PO(4) microcrystals enclosed by {221} and {332} facets based on the heteroepitaxial growth procedure, which exhibit much higher photocatalytic activities than cubic Ag(3)PO(4) and commercial N-doped TiO(2).

Synthesis of magnetically separable Ag3PO4/TiO2/Fe3O4 heterostructure with enhanced photocatalytic performance under visible light for photoinactivation of bacteria.

Silver orthophosphate (Ag3PO4) is a low-band-gap photocatalyst that has received considerable research interest in recent years. In this work, the magnetic Ag3PO4/TiO2/Fe3O4 heterostructured nanocomposite was synthesized. The nanocomposite was found to exhibit markedly enhanced photocatalytic activity, cycling stability, and long-term durability in the photodegradation of acid orange 7 (AO7) un...

Analogies and differences between photocatalytic oxidation of chemicals and photocatalytic inactivation of microorganisms.

This study reports the analogies and differences found when comparing TiO(2) photocatalytic treatment for chemical oxidation and microorganisms inactivation, using methylene blue and Escherichia coli as references, respectively. In both processes the activation is based on the same physicochemical phenomena and consequently a good correlation between them is observed when analyzing the effect o...
